pick up orders

what is a Pick Up Order?

pickup orders are advance online orders that are placed with our local Wafels & Dinges stores. You can pick up the order at the arranged time at our store. Pick-up orders are available on www.wafels.com and in  all of the platforms listed on our store location pages: Doordash, UberEats, Grubhub etc.

how much in advance should I order for pick-up.

for orders of individual wafels, we usually just need 10 minutes. For larger orders (2 family / party boxes or more), you need to give us at least one hour so we can bake all those wafels for you.

do I need to bring any type of confirmation with me?

just the name on the order, or even better, the order number!

is it okay if someone else picks up my order for me?

that’s fine. Just specify the full name of the recipient when you place your order. If it’s placed under your name, let the person picking it up know to give your name instead of theirs, and make sure they know what you ordered!

should I wait in line if I pre-ordered?

nope! Since you’ve already ordered and paid, you can skip the line and go straight up to the front counter.

what is a Delivery Order?

a Delivery Order is an order that is delivered via local car or bike courier! Our website lists all of the available delivery partners (UberEats, Doordash, Grubhub) for each of our locations, as well as our own platform, where you get free delivery.

can I place an order for same-day, local delivery?

you can place a same-day, local delivery from your nearest Wafels & Dinges store with Doordash, Grubhub, and UberEats, or you can order directly with Wafels & Dinges and get free delivery.

when will my Delivery Order arrive?

typically local deliveries will arrive within 45 minutes, but keep in mind that we work with external delivery partners, and that the weather can have a major impact on delivery time frames!

what if I am not available at my delivery time?

this is precious cargo we’re talking about, so we can’t just leave your treats to fend for themselves! We will try to leave your order with a third party if we can (like your doorman, reception desk, etc.) but if that doesn’t work, we’ll have to leave your order at your doorstep.

can the doorman/receptionist sign for my Delivery Order?

yes, as long as the doorman/receptionist accepts perishable goods! Please keep in mind that some buildings will not hold food deliveries and the recipient will need to be available to receive the order.

nationwide shipping

what is a nationwide shipping order?

with our Nationwide shipping service we ship our products with Fedex all over the United States. We ship to the lower 48 states. Stay tuned for Alaska & Hawaii.

where do you ship your products from?

all our products are baked fresh and shipped directly from our wafel-atelier in Brooklyn, New York.

when will my order be shipped?

shipping to NYC Tri-State:

We ship Monday through Friday, except for holidays. Our daily cut-off time for orders is 1:00pm EST. Our wafels are baked & shipped the same day. Our standard shipping service for the Tri-State is Fedex Ground or Fedex Express Saver.

Nationwide, beyond the NYC Tri-State:

These orders ship Monday through Wednesday, except holidays. This way your order doesn’t “sit” over the weekend. We recommend that for all nationwide orders, you order 2 to 4 days ahead of your desired date for an on-time arrival.

i need my order delivered on a specific day; how do I request that?

Yes! you can choose your delivery date at the cart page.

can I include a gift note/message with my online order?

yes! any special gift note or message can be applied to your order in the cart page, please find an example here.

did you forget to include your gift message during checkout?

if you forget to add a gift message you can edit your order from the order confirmation email, or in your account page within 30 min of placing the order. If you have issues adding your gift message please send us an email with your order number (!) and your gift message to shop@wafels.com. As long as your order has not been shipped we will add the gift note.

can I ship to an address that’s different from my billing address?

yes! When checking out with your order, please ensure that the shipping address is completed to where you would like the order to be delivered.

can I send Wafels & Dinges gifts to multiple addresses?

what’s the difference between “nationwide shipping” and “local delivery & pickup”?

with our Nationwide shipping service we ship our products with Fedex all over the United States. We ship to the lower 489 states. Stay tuned for Alaska & Hawaii. Withhen we refer to local delivery& pickup we refer to the deliveries that are available from your local Wafels & Dinges store. You can find our locations here. We have our own ordering platform (free delivery) and we also work within a range of 3 miles when you order from Ddoordash, UberEeats, Grubhub, EZCezcater

will pricing information be included with my gift order?

because nobody wants a gift with a price tag on it. We do not include receipts or invoices with orders placed online or over the phone. But you will get a confirmation email. Printed receipts are offered for orders placed in stores.

how can I use my promo code?

you can enter your promo code by going to your cart and applying your discount code during the checkout.

can I make changes to my online order before it ships?

yes! you can edit your order from the order confirmation email or your account page within 15 min of placing the order.

can I make changes to my online order after it ships?

we make great wafels bwt we’re not magicians! Once the order has been shipped,we are unable to make any changes. Any changes or cancellations for online orders must be made 3 days in advance of the initially requested delivery date

how will I know if my order has been shipped?

you will receive an order confirmation email when your order is placed and a shipping confirmation email with tracking information when your order has shipped from our facility.

can I cancel my online order?

orders can be canceled online in the account page or in the order confirmation email from our online store within 15 minutes of placing the order.

what if the ice packs are melted?

your wafels are baked on the day of shipping. Our shipping schedule is set up so that the destination address is reached within three days*. The waffles will hold well during shipping, even without ice packs. However we prefer to add several ice packs to your shipment to cover for eventual shipping delays. It is likely that your ice-packs will melt during shipping. As long as the shipping carrier* does not incur major delays, your wafels will be just as tasty.

* Occasionally the selected shipper may incur delays due to weather or staffing shortages. Wafels & Dinges can’t assume responsibility for operational shortcomings with our shipping partners.

my online order is delayed.

once your package is in our shipping partners' (Fedex) hands, we cannot control delays due to peak volume, labor challenges or exceptional weather.

my online order arrived damaged.

do you offer returns, refunds or exchanges for nationwide delivery orders?

all our perishable treats that ship nationwide are final sale. We do not accept returns or offer refunds on any order that is shipped nationwide. Wafels & Dinges does not offer refunds for delays caused by our shipping partners due to weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disaster, inaccurate shipping information, mistakes on the part of our shipping partners’ employees or similar reasons.

wafel storage

fridge: when received (and not immediately devoured), store your waffles in the fridge and enjoy them within 10 days of the ordering date.

freezer: you may also store your waffles (airtight) in the freezer and spread the joy for up to two months.

wafel warming instructions

how to reheat: there aren’t many things the Queen and King agree on, but they do share an aversion to microwaving wafels! Here’s the royal way to warm them up, from room temperature:

in the oven, for 10 minutes at 300 °F
In the toaster, at lowest (reheat) setting - for two cycles. The wafels do not need to be “toasted”, they just need to be warmed.

no need to reheat the chocolinis, they are meant to be eaten at room temperature.

topping with dinges:

at the Belgian Wafel Academy, many Master & PhD courses are dedicated to this topic. There are many rules, and Belgians are very strict about their “dinges” rules. Here in America however, we can put as many toppings as we like. We’d recommend our signature spekuloos spread, Belgian chocolate fudge, whipped cream and fresh strawberries or bananas. Listen to your inner dinges voice!

once opened, our spreads jars remains great for at least 6 weeks. Although, to give them a long and happy life we recommend to store them in the fridge. Stir the contents well before spreading the goodness!

traditional Liege wafels contain:

should I count the calories?

The approximate calorie count is 190 cal for a wafelini and 380 cal for a traditional Liège wafel, but you know what they say: "Don’t count the calories, just make the calories count!"    

I’m seeing dark spots on the edge of my wafels, did you burn them? Our wafels are made the traditional way with imported pearl sugar. The melted / boiling sugar in our irons can leave caramelized (darker) spots. This is a good thing, very typical for artisanal Liège wafels

what’s the difference between a local e-gift card and Nationwide Shipping e-gift card?

local e-gift cards are only redeemable in our brick and mortar store for Local-pickup and Wafels & Dinges local delivery service(please note that this e-gift cards can’t be used in other food services companies outside Wafels & Dinges for local delivery), these e-gift cards are only redeemable using the email you receive on your mobile phone.

how do I send a local e-gift card?

There you can order from our site, and pick your unique e-gift card design, amount, delivery date, as well as add a personal message and the recipient’s information.

Send local e-gift cards to friends and family via email. They can be used for in-store purchases, on our online site.

can I reload and check my Local e-gift card balance?

yes! you can reload your e-gift card and check your e-gift card balance from the original e-gift card email by clicking on the view your e-gift card button. The page will have information about the card balance, the ability to add funds to the gift card, transaction history, methods for redemption, and the original gifting message.

To reload your e-gift card, you’ll need to confirm your e-gift card number, PIN (if applicable), and payment card information.

nationwide Shipping e-gift card

wafels & Dinges gift cards are available in wafels.com in increments of $25, $50, and $100. They make the perfect gift for someone near or far to bring Wafels & Dinges home. eGift cards are only redeemable on wafels.com for Nationwide delivery and they won’t work on any of our brick and mortar store locations.

physical cards

if you would prefer a physical card, please drop by one of our locations, physical gift cards purchased inside Wafels & Dinges locations are only redeemable at participating locations and cannot be used on www.wafels.com for any type of order.
